Two days training plus one day assessment. Felling and processing trees above 380mm in diameter.
The Felling and Processing Trees Over 380mm 21-11 course is suitable for people who have achieved the Award in Chainsaw Maintenance and Cross Cutting 20-03 (CS30) and Award in Felling and Processing Trees up to 380 mm 20-04 (CS31) or the Award in Ground Based Chainsaw Operation level 2 (CS30 & CS31). It is for people who operate chainsaws to fell trees larger than the guide bar length.
This is a course for felling trees over 380 mm and involves the use of a winch plus the taking down trees that are hung up. We will cover the relevant theory and practical experience to aid successful completion of the course.
Please bear in mind that this course has physical demands and requires the carrying of equipment in woodland and forest environment.
Please note: The felling sites are located in remote locations in commercial forests within a 50mile radius of Settle. You need to be able to drive, have a suitable vehicle for logging roads and make your own way to the felling site.
