Who We Are

The British Association of Landscape Industries (BALI) was established in 1972 as the UK’s representative trade association for the landscaping sector. Our membership comprises interior and exterior landscapers and designers, grounds maintenance contractors, and companies supplying industry-related products and services. And they all have one thing in common: a commitment to delivering professional excellence by continually raising standards across the industry.

The Association’s Vision Statement:

‘An association for all landscape professionals that supports, promotes and inspires its members to be leaders of an environmentally, ethically, and commercially sustainable landscape industry’

The Association’s Mission Statement

‘BALI’s aim is to be the Trade Association of choice for the nation’s landscape professionals by delivering exceptional business, technical and promotional support for our members’

Key elements of the Association’s Strategic Plan:

Identify members’ needs in respect of business, technical, training and promotional support.
Develop a range of services that meet members’ needs in respect of business, technical, training and promotional support.
Engage members in business, technical and promotional activities to ensure they are continuously improving their competence, confidence and knowledge.
Develop the skills of BALI staff to maximise their ability to support members.
Promote BALI members to their established and potential markets.
Ensure the Association has a representative level of membership within the landscape industry.
Work with relevant legislative and regulatory bodies to protect and advance members’ interests.
Continue to set and raise industry standards.

BALI membership is reassuringly difficult to achieve and the right to display the BALI logo is bestowed only after contractors, designers and suppliers have submitted to a rigorous vetting procedure and signed up to the Association’s Code of Conduct.
